AWP

My main response to AWP this year is exhaustion. By nature, I’m a shy introvert. It’s physically and emotionally draining to chat with strangers all day, which is basically what one does when one “mans” a book table at a bookfair. But admitedly it was also fun. I met a bunch of authors, including Kate Bernheimer and Susan Steinberg (two personal favorites). I would normally include Noy Holland, but I met her last year, though it was indeed nice to see her again. One of the great things about FC2 is that they publish a lot of fiction by women and ethnic minorities.

But I’ll blog more about it at another time. I’m just too tired. Plus, I watched the City of Lost Children last night, which is also a bit draining.

Sorry ’bout the lame post. I’ll make up for it.

As I posted on Edward Champion’s site: Not to sound uppity (though I know I will), I did not rip off anything from Michelle Richmond. If you look at the bottom of Michelle’s page, you’ll see that it’s a WordPress theme designed by Carol (http://oh-dear.org/archives) that anyone can use. Both Michelle and I modified the theme to suit our purposes. Thanks for the mention, though. Oh, and I’ll have more on AWP during the coming week. So much to cover.
