As a child, I slept with a flashlight under my pillow. Not because I was afraid of the dark (I had a nightlight for that) but because it was the only way I could read into the wee hours of the morning. I came up with all kinds of creative ways to hold the flashlight, but I still ended up with an unhappy wrist. If Book Lamps had been around then, I can only imagine how much more blissful my nighttime reading would have been.

Nowadays I can stay up as late as I want with the light on for reading, but there have been at least a few times when I’ve whipped out a Mini Maglite so as not to disturb Le Spouse’s sleep. Maybe it’s time to add a new member to my reading accessories family.
