Martin J. Weber, 102, Innovator in Graphic Techniques (do read this one in full!)
Wow, you’re right. Mr. Weber’s obit was worth reading. What a work life! (I mean, 102 years, I’m sure his whole life—not just work—was amazing.) This was a man who invented at least one process–the posterization effect, that brings 3D to print. Pretty heady stuff. In a time when we take so much for granted, all the various software packages and computer tricks that we give no thought to, such a pioneer seems far and away from the world I work in. Anyone who’s done graphic design work really should give a tip of the cap to Mr. Weber, someone who really contributed to the field. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
